I chose this artwork for my zine page because I feel that for me this is the most successful painting from the body of work that I have been working on so far. I have a hard time feeling that my pieces are “good enough” or “finished”. The quote I chose to follow the contour of the dream-like floating hair describes that part of my personality.
For the 3D project, I decided to create videos of ink dropping into water. Using different color combinations created a different emotion for me each time I videoed. The way that the ink slowly progresses through the water created an unexpected dream-like feeling.
For our first project, I started a 2d chalk pastel self-portrait on cardboard. I am currently brainstorming the direction of my upcoming thesis show. Unlike most of my previous work, my recent work includes more figures and portraiture. I decided to take process photos through out the creation of this drawing to practice creating GIF files.
